Michael Smets har optrådt på flere Ted Talk-events, og han står bl.a. bag undersøgelsen ”The Power of Doubt”, som blev præsenteret på World Economic Forum i 2015. The Future of Leadership: Helping Female Leaders Own their Careers

“Don’t wait to be asked” and “Take active ownership” of your career are among the key pieces of advice successful female CEOs would give to young women with leadership aspirations. In this session, Michael looks past these rallying cries to unpack what exactly it means to “take ownership” and how others can help aspiring female leaders – both in the workplace and at home. Specifically, Michael explores leadership practices of self-acceptance, self-development and self-management and how HR practices can help or hinder women in each of those practices. Based on interviews with over 100 female CEOs and senior executives, he challenges the way we think and talk about female leadership and explores how organizations can give women more room to develop their leadership styles in more experimental and playful ways.
